The solenoid valve is used to for controlling water flow from a pressurized system such as an RO/DI unit. This solenoid valve is normally closed meaning the valve is only open (allowing water to flow) when the unit is powered. The solenoid valve comes with preinstalled 1/4” John Guest Speed-Fit connectors and an AC power cord. The power cord connects to the valve using 1/4” insulated spade connectors. For automatic water level applications, use the solenoid valve in conjunction with our Aquarium Level Controller. This is a general purpose AC solenoid valve and can be used for non-aquarium uses.

Setup and Operating Instructions
We recommend using standard 1/4” semi-rigid water line for RO/DI plumbing purposes. The solenoid valve should be installed before the RO/DI unit. If installed on the effluent line (clean water output), waste water will continuously run unless an auto shut-off valve is installed. The solenoid valve operates correctly in only one direction of flow as indicated by the picture to the left. If operated in the other direction, the valve may appear to be working but will leak over time. An arrow is stamped into the valve body on the top of the input to show the direction of flow. While operating, the coil will become hot to the touch. This is normal and does not indicate a defective valve. Be careful with the placement of the valve as the high temperature of the coil may cause damage.
