Many aquatic creatures are intimately bound to the natural lunar cycle. The yearly mass spawning on the Great Barrier Reef, for example, coincides with full moon. A simulated lunar cycle can have a positive influence on captive fish and corals as well. By using out Moon Contoller or Moon Computer on your aquarium, you create a natural lunar cycle effect that closely simulates the real moon.

Moon Controller Features

The Moon Controller is a microcontroller based digital dimmer and moon cycle timer. It automatically varies the intensity of the connected moonlights over a 29.5 day period (the lunar month) to mimic the natural progression of the moon. The Moon Controller can operate up to ten Moontube Moonlights with the included power supply.

In addition to automatic control, the Moon controller can also be used to manually dim the moon lights from 0 to 100% with no flickering. Because changing the controller to manual mode does not interfere with the timing of the moon cycle, you can feel free to play with the moonlight at any time. When the controller is turned back to auto mode, the correct amount of time will have elasped. Futhermore, the controller will remember its place if the power goes out (though the cycle will not continue during the outage).

While big in features, the Moon controller is small in design. At approximitaly 1" by 2", you can mount the controller just about anywhere. The controller's enclosure has molded mounting flanges allowing you to securely fasten it to any surface (screws not included).
